Let’s talk about one of the most important parts of your funnel: the call-to-action (CTA).

 

"But, Alexis…what’s a CTA?" I’m glad you asked! 

 

Your CTA is the part of your page or email that tells your audience exactly what to do next. It could be a button or a link that says things like “Download Now,” “Sign Up,” or “Schedule a Call.” 

 

But here’s the thing—a vague or unclear CTA can confuse your audience or make them hesitate, and that could be costing you conversions.

 

Think of it this way: your CTA is like giving someone directions. If they’re unclear or too general, people are going to wander around and maybe even give up. But if you’re clear and direct, they’ll know exactly what to do and feel more confident taking action.

 

A good CTA needs to:

  1. Be specific: Instead of using something generic like “Click Here” or “Learn More,” try “Get Your Free Guide Now” or “Schedule Your Free Call Today.” The more direct you are, the easier it is for people to take that next step.
  2. Be action-oriented: Use strong, action verbs like “Download,” “Get,” or “Join” to encourage people to act. This creates a sense of momentum and makes it clear that they’re doing something valuable.
  3. Connect to the benefit: Make sure your CTA ties directly into the value they’re getting. If they’re signing up for a guide, your CTA should remind them of the benefit, like “Get Your Free Guide to Boost Sales.”

 

This small change can make a huge difference because it tells your audience exactly what action they need to take, and it connects that action to the immediate benefit they’ll get.

Go to your opt-in page or landing page and look at your CTA. Is it clear, specific, and action-oriented? Could it tie more closely to the benefit you’re offering? A strong CTA makes it easy for your audience to say “yes” to what you’re offering.
